Preserving and improving period properties

Retaining their original character and style

Adding a modern entrance to a period stone and brick built home

Working with period properties demands respect, knowledge and patience. We’ve been trusted to restore homes from the Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco eras, as well as listed buildings with complex conservation requirements. Our role is always the same, to protect what makes a building special while making it work for the way you live today.

We understand how to navigate planning and heritage approvals and how to sensitively balance old and new.

A considered approach

Restoration starts with understanding what can and should be preserved. We work closely with you, conservation officers and specialist suppliers to identify the right materials and methods for every element of the build.

From structural repairs and oak timber framing to roof trusses and traditional joinery, we manage the details that bring period buildings back to life.

We can also advise on subtle ways to improve energy performance, heating and comfort, using modern techniques that don’t compromise the building’s character.

When every detail matters

We’re known for our calm, considered process and for taking time to source materials that match the originals as closely as possible. That might mean tracking down reclaimed materials or working with traditional craftspeople to make sure every detail feels authentic.

As with all of our work, we can also help redesign internal layouts or craft bespoke furniture and joinery that fits the home and enhances how it works for you.
